I'm just learning here, so please, be patient.

Welcome, and thanks for visiting.

I started this on September 17 of '98

I'm healthy, single and have no offspring.

See what 10K of Jpeg can do:
I've never had an I-net site before.

Now I have no excuse for not examining the HTML book I bought. I tend to buy books the way some folks buy M&M's. But the number of hours each day makes available doesn't provide enough time to absorb even most of what interests me.

My public thanks to www.fortunecity.com for graciously providing this space. I wish them well in their venture.

Another 10K I've used in PowWow chat~
I'm interested in lots of areas. Nothing from the arts to the sciences is safe from my attentions:
  • I'm a tenor and have a neighbor who says it doesn't bother him. I used to be even more interested in computers as a discipline, but now they are mainly a vehicle for my joy. Technology generally fascinates me.
  • Mindless human growth in the context of this non-growing planet's limits vex my soul.
  • I try to live by the old "A healthy mind in a healthy body" life rule.
  • Music can excite me so much I should "cool off" before driving. Well developed clear strong (is that redundant?) voices seem to speak to some inner part of me that's easily seduced by them. This often originates from classical works, but I think that wonderfully sung nonsense words could compel me.
  • Some rock, some pop, some opera, but always and only with a driving compulsion.
  • I love the natural sciences, which by the way I define things, includes physics, seem to be the universal message revealed to those with eyes to see and a mind to understand. I might further warn you that aside from the language known as math (trust me, it is a language) the other "sciences" are just subsets of physics.
  • I have an interest in personal finance which includes investing. This is a path toward freedom. It's a way to get off the mindless treadmill before what is traditionally considered to be "retirement age." Take a peek at my recent photos shown here. Seeing them and understanding that I retired 11 years ago, you should realize that I've long been serious about using money as a vehicle to freedom. I've done it.
  • How can anyone NOT be interested in philosophy if they are intellectually alive?
  • Photography used to be one of my compulsive interests. Now, with my collection of 35 mm camera systems, my Fuji GL690 6x9 cm. with 3 lenses, and now a couple digital cameras, I have it more under control.
  • I don't like to think of myself as "politically oriented," but self preservation in this increasingly collectivist USA forces me to have some strongly held political views. The closest group to my postures are the Libertarians. I would prefer a minimalist government. Those of you who think that government representatives are so much brighter than themselves that THEY should allocate 43% of the USA GNP should form collectives and stop trying to force people like me to fund their spending preference orderings. Grrrrrr~
  • Most team sports bore me to tears. They even agrevate me by wasting any moments I'm forced to alter my life because of their impingement into my life. I'd love to seduce this nation's competitively spirited people to PARTICIPATE in real events rather than to live vicariously by watching "the tube."
  • Travel interests me, but though I've lots of opportunity, the experience would be a lot more inviting if I had a loving travel companion with whom to share those experiences
